Halloween and trick-or-treating isn’t a thing in Paraguay, but they’ve seen it on TV and costume parties are becoming popular in the cities.
I’m not sure if our little Halloween party we hosted for the neighbor kids really helped them understand us better, but it was fun no más and they enjoyed it. Check out the slideshow featuring brujas, zombis, momias, y nuestra watermel-o-lantern:
We made home-made playdough in Halloween colors, did little games for candy prizes, wrapped a mummy, played plastic bottle bowing (because…plastic bottle bowling), and ate carrot cake with orange frosting (a surprising hit…just add sugar, I guess). The biggest hit for the kids: playing with leftover decorations and felt scraps. Who’d have guessed?
