We’ve been tardy in writing another post. We’ve moved around more than we did in the first half of our trip. Also, we’ve had really bad luck with internet speed. Enough excuses, here’s a quick recap:
We left Bolivia for Peru by bus on 16 July. We arrived in Cusco, got settled, and then did a 7 day hike to Machu Picchu. We also did a week of Spanish lessons afterwards. We’ll post in more detail later, but here’s a few pics:
We spent a few days in Lima before moving on to Oaxaca, Mexico. (Angela took a detour through Cabo for a friend’s bachelorette party, which I’m sure was fairly sedate).
Oaxaca is an amazing place for food and mezcal. We went on a tour of small-scale mezcal distilleries and took cooking classes. We also did an amazing four-day, 40 mile hike through the nearby pine and oak covered mountains (at 10,000 ft above sea level) and saw the 2,000 year old city of Monte Albán. Again, we’ll post more later. But here are a few photos for now:
We’ve moved on to Mexico City where we are visiting friends. Next, visits in San Diego and Las Vegas before moving on to Spain. More later!
